Greene & Greene Shelf

I had just finished the G&G chest , and was now watching my toddler son throw my video game controllers all over the house. I thought if only I had a nice place to put them where my son couldn't reach them and my wife wouldn't complain about how the living room looks like a bachelor pad. I headed down to the shop and came up with this design. It's made from scrap Mahagony, Cherry, and Walnut.

I started with the backbone, I used a dado blade to cut the grooves for the shelves. I ran the shelves through the planer until they fit just right into the backbone.

Before rounding everything over I cut an arch out of the back on the band saw.

On this one I made the plugs out of Redheart.

The buttons weren't to bad this go around as there were only a few of them. For reference they are about half again bigger than a pencil eraser.

All done. I cut a keyhole on the back so it will hang on a screw with ease.
