Cherry Jewelry Box
This is a jewelry box that my wife and I built together for the Employee & Community Assistance Fund (ECAF) charity auction. It was simple to build and could be done with minimal tools in less than a day. A great project for a beginner woodworker.
To start I cut the sides to length and then drilled holes for the Redheart plugs.
Next we added runners to support the smaller inner box. Building the smaller box was as easy as cutting the sides and bottom to their proper dimensions then gluing it up. After the glue was dry I sanded the whole box on the belt sander and applied red adhesive. You use red adhesive so that when you apply the red flocking it acts as the same background color.
